Model Depot
Farnley TMD
Farnley TMD is a small 8 foot x 3 foot layout based in west Yorkshire, It has a small TMD, a very small station, and a goods shed.
Railfreight red stripe is the flavour, and along with Blue locomotives it has its date set within the eighties.
The layout is built to explore some of the capability's of DCC and what Digital has to offer me.
The controller I am using is a Hornby elite, however I want to try the Gaugemaster Prodigy 2 simply because of its looks and Gaugemaster has a good reputation for the DC controllers.
The track work is mainly Hornby, I think for this particular project set-
Signals are a mix of Traintronics and eckon / Berko.
I decided that I would use seep point motors as there easy to wire / solder and I haven't had any problems to date with them. I had used H & M point motors years ago but they can only be bought second hand now as far as I know.
I had thought of using Tortoise type point motors but I cant see any advantage with them
